Substance: Finasteride (Propecia)
Package: 1mg (50 pills)
Proscalpin contains Finasteride as a main substance, a specific inhibitor of 5a-reductase which is the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone). It is mainly used for minimizing such unwelcoming adverse effects of DHT. Prostetit has a reputation for taking effect on the body in a short time. It can suppress DHT level as much as 65% within 24 hours after taking a single 1 mg tablet. Medically, this drug has been used to treat two specific issiues. When it was first introduced to the market in U.S under the brand name of Proscar, it was used to treat hyperplasia (prostate enlargement). More recently (December 1997), finasteride was approved for use as an anti-balding medication as it is claimed by most of scientist that DHT was one of the main reasons of hair loss in many cases. Finasteride also has its own side effects due to the specific nature it has. However, it was never called as a health risky drug. The common side effect as reported by its users is over decreased DHT level which may cause sexual disinterest/dysfunction. This unwelcoming adverse effect can easily be avoided by discontinuing the drug. It is also should be noted that finasteride has been led to increase level of testosterone as much as 15% because a significant amount of the androgen is being left unaltered by the reductase enzyme.
